Bacon Cinnamon Rolls

For these, I feel as if I must repent. Puff pastry + butter + sugar + bacon = sin, yes?

I still don't know quite how to feel about these. I now believe bacon belongs in a cinnamon roll-- I've converted. But is a roll made with puff pastry really a cinnamon roll? That some Zen master contemplative stuff right there.

Ingredients
1 sheet of puff pastry (Trader Joe's puff pastry is made with REAL BUTTER. Don't settle for less!)
flour for rolling out the puff pastry
1/2 stick butter, softened
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup white sugar
2 tablespoons cinnamon
6-8 thick slices of bacon, well cooked

How To
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Thaw the puff pastry according to the directions on the package. Mix the sugars and cinnamon in a small bowl. Roll out the dough to about 1/8 of an inch thick on a lightly floured surface. Spread the butter onto the puff pastry, then sprinkle with the sugar mixture. Cover the sugar with a layer of delicious, delicious bacon.

Roll the dough up and slice into 6 equal portions. Butter a 6-cup muffin pan and place one roll in each cup. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the dough is brown and flaky. Let cool or you will have a mouthful of boiling bacon sugar and that is nowhere near as delightful as that might sound.

These were tasty but I can't say I'm in love. I need to make these again with a traditional yeast dough.

Wow! I really want to try this.
I like the idea of placing the rolls in a cupcake holder.

It'd be good with a maple glaze!

I tried this recipe out and it was delicious!!! We add a homemade glaze made of maple syrup, sugar, and a small amount of vanilla which made it even better!
